My first meeting with Mr. Louis was at a barbecue on Memorial Day 2010. It was such a pleasure to meet my dear friend Karissa's father as well as the rest of her immediate family. I sat there and talked with her father for quite a while and I found myself deeply imbedded in his stories and very quirky, funny, and cute comments. The moment that my infatuation went from a level 10 to a level 100, was when he told me a story about a girl who was homeless and he explained her history to me. As he told me this story, he became emotional and he became teary-eyed. I was so touched by his ability to sympathize and feel compassion to the point of tears for another person. I was so impressed with him as a person, with his obvious big heart, and awesome spirit. I never forgot that or him for that matter. He left a lasting impression. How lucky his family is to have had such a gentle, tender hearted man in their family to call husband, father, brother, grandfather, uncle and friend. May he rest in peace and his memory last forever in the hearts of all the people he touched. He certainly has touched me.
