Louis Manuel Barcelo was born on Wednesday, February 26, 1936 in New York, NY to Miguel Barcelo and Maria Luisa Correa. His father was a merchant seamen from Catalonia, Spain. His mother was Taino Indian from Arecibo, Puerto Rico. She was a savvy entrepreneur who owned her own laundromat and butcher shop in the Bronx. He was born into a family of 5 children. His sister Rosa was born with cerebral palsy. She tragically died at just 32 years of age. His closest sibling who cared for him throughout most of his childhood is his brother Joe. They remained close throughout the years and he often expressed how much he loved and appreciated his brother. After being discharged from the military he married his first love Olga. Together they had 3 wonderful children: Diana: a Harvard graduate, Sinoa Louise: a singer/songwriter, actress, and Louis: a physical education teacher. In 1984, he re-married the second love of his life, Caroline. Together they had 2 wonderful children: Karissa: who works in film and television production, and Lucas: a young entrepreneur. He is loved by all his children and grandchildren, but also by the many great friends in his lifetime. Too many to list here.
